OVERVIEW

The long arched foreshore resembles an archer’s bow, with a wide shallow sand bar that provides the ideal spot for beginner to intermediate swimmers. If you tire of swimming, take a break to stroll around the island and see dramatic cliff faces and the narrow gorge nicknamed ‘Snake Valley’ up close.
Tatsunoshima Swimming Beach is only a 5-minute ferry ride from Katsumoto Port, a shuttle running every 30-minutes during summer. Flat bottomed boats ensure a smooth ride to and from the island. Pair your day at the beach with a pleasure boat cruise to learn about the island and its surroundings.
